Rosie Thomas is adorable and, likewise, makes adorable music. By adorable, I mean heart-wrenching and poignant and joyous and just plain beautiful. Her 2007 release, These Friends of Mine came out over a year ago, but I hadn’t purchased it and now wonder, like any great discovery of music or literature, how my world had worked before finding it. Her album is quirky, a determination automatically assumed by any involvement by Sufjan Stevens, who duets with Rosie on a cover of The One I Love, an ethereal cover that is strikingly beautiful and haunting.
